Maya Memsaab

Set in Shimla, this drama follows Maya, a bright and privileged young woman who marries the local doctor who had been treating her ailing father. As her husband becomes absorbed in his medical practice, Maya grows restless and dissatisfied with domestic life, drifting into secret romantic relationships while indulging in extravagant spending on luxury items she cannot afford. Her mounting debts and unraveling personal life eventually push her toward a desperate reckoning, loosely adapting the story of Flaubert's Madame Bovary to an Indian setting.
