This biographical drama follows the life of Urdu author Saadat Hasan Manto during India's independence and partition in the 1940s. As communal tensions escalate, Manto makes the difficult choice to relocate from Bombay to Lahore, where he faces legal battles over obscenity charges, personal hardship, and the toll of alcoholism while continuing to write courageously. The film weaves together his lived experiences with five of his notable stories, including his most celebrated work.

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
