Manithan is a 1987 Tamil masala drama starring Rajinikanth as Raja, a man whose father's superstition about children born on the moonless day marks him as fated for crime, leading to a wrongful accusation that lands him in juvenile detention. After his release, Raja dedicates himself to charitable work through a local welfare organization, which earns him both gratitude and powerful adversaries. The film follows his struggle to overcome those who oppose him while working to overturn the prejudice and false beliefs that have shadowed his life.
