This 1978 drama, adapted from Chandrakant Kakodkar's Marathi novel Ashi Tujhi Preet, follows a wealthy landowner torn between his beloved companion Tulsi and the powerful woman he is compelled to marry, Sanjukta. After Tulsi's death, her son is raised apart from the family to shield him from social stigma, and the story follows how his half-brother's jealousy and family tensions unfold as he grows up and returns home. The narrative centers on themes of sacrifice, loyalty, and rivalry between the two half-brothers within an aristocratic household.
