Maasilamani follows an orphaned young man known locally as a tough troublemaker, who falls instantly for a dance teacher from a wealthier family. To win her affection, he adopts a polished alter ego, keeping his rougher identity hidden from her while everyone else in his circle plays along. Complications arise when a rival suitor, a police inspector, tries to expose his double life and targets his family, forcing the truth into the open and testing the young woman's feelings.
