Kyon Ki

Set in a mental sanatorium overseen by a strict administrator, the story follows Anand, a young man admitted under court order, and Tanvi, the administrator's daughter and a doctor who has grown guarded after a past patient left her feeling unappreciated. As Anand's unruly behavior and hidden past come to light through his diary, revealing a troubled romance with a nun named Maya, Tanvi finds herself drawn into his story, straining her professional detachment and her relationship with her authoritarian father. The 2005 Hindi drama, directed by Priyadarshan, is a remake of his own earlier Malayalam film and was itself inspired by an earlier Hollywood adaptation of a classic novel.
