Returning home from Dubai after learning of his younger sister Jenny's death, Josh finds himself able to see and communicate with her spirit, and together they revisit memories of their difficult upbringing, his time working abroad, and people from his past. Their journey brings him back into contact with his childhood love Sophie, who is dealing with the aftermath of an abusive marriage and family mistreatment, as well as his old coach, now elderly and in need of care. The film blends supernatural elements with a family drama about loss, hardship, and reconnecting with people from one's past.
