Set in 1897, this Hindi-language war drama follows Havildar Ishar Singh, a soldier in a Sikh regiment of the British Indian Army stationed near the Afghan frontier. After defying his British commander to save a woman from tribal violence, he is transferred to the remote Saragarhi outpost, where he must whip his undisciplined troops into shape even as a massive Pashtun tribal force begins mobilizing against British-held forts in the region. The story builds toward the vastly outnumbered garrison's confrontation with thousands of attacking tribesmen.
