Karwaan follows Avinash, a photography enthusiast stuck in an unfulfilling IT job, who learns that his estranged father has died in a bus accident. When he receives the wrong corpse, he teams up with his van-driving friend Shaukat to track down the right body, a journey that leads them to a grieving widow and her troubled teenage daughter. The mismatched group's road trip across South India becomes a chance for each of them to confront family wounds and personal regrets along the way.
