This 1979 Tamil drama, directed by B. V. Balaguru, follows a village woman named Kannama who is secretly married to Subbiah after her father rejects the match because he is an orphan. Once wed, the couple discovers that Subbiah has been left unable to consummate the marriage due to an injury from a bull during a jallikattu event, and they try to hide this from everyone while facing social pressures. Complications arise when Subbiah's friend Cheenu, a womanizer, becomes drawn to Kannama and later uses his knowledge of the couple's secret against her.
