This 1984 Tamil drama, directed by Mahendran, follows Kaalimuthu, who marries Seetha after overcoming his elder brother's objections. Seetha, who is blind, becomes the victim of a sexually predatory landlord who assaults her while her husband is away. The story then turns to how Kaalimuthu responds to this violation. The film is an expanded adaptation of a segment from the 1976 Kannada anthology Katha Sangama, with Rajinikanth taking the lead role after having played the villain in the earlier version.
