An aging father has two daughters ready for marriage, Rama and Renu. When the wealthy young man betrothed to Rama secretly visits to see his intended bride, he confuses her with her sister Renu, and the two develop feelings for each other. Once the mix-up comes to light after the wedding takes place, Renu is thrown out of the household for questioning her fate, and crosses paths with a traveling musician before family troubles draw her back home.
