This 1998 British-Pakistani biographical drama traces the life of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the leader who founded Pakistan, using a framing device in which a mysterious guide leads him through key moments of his past. It follows his contentious marriage to Rattanbai Petit, his growing political isolation as he pushes for Hindu-Muslim reconciliation and later a separate Muslim homeland, and his rise to become Pakistan's first head of state amid the upheaval of partition. Christopher Lee stars as Jinnah in this Jamil Dehlavi-directed film, co-written with Akbar S. Ahmed.
