Set in Calicut, the story follows Jayaprakash, a struggling small-time land broker who dreams of striking it rich while secretly in love with his cousin, a doctor unaware of his feelings. When an elderly widower asks him to help sell his son's property, the deal falls through but the old man ends up living with Jayaprakash and his business partner, setting off a chain of events that unexpectedly boosts his fortunes through clever, sometimes underhanded schemes. The film uses his rise as a pointed commentary on the lure of easy money and its effect on young people chasing quick success.
