In this 1990 Malayalam musical drama, a struggling Qawwali performer from Bombay is secretly hired by scheming relatives of a wealthy Hindu royal family to eliminate the household's aging king. He slips into the palace posing as a Brahmin classical vocalist to win the ruler's trust, but his growing bond with the king's family complicates the plot against him. The film blends classical music performances with a tale of deception inside a royal household.
