Set in the village of Haripur in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district, the story follows two brothers, Ganga and Jamna, whose lives take opposing paths after a corrupt landlord frames Ganga for a crime he didn't commit. While Ganga flees to the hills and falls in with a gang of outlaws alongside his companion Dhanno, Jamna is sent away for schooling and grows up to join the police force. Their diverging fates eventually bring the two siblings into direct conflict with one another.
