This 1986 Hindi courtroom drama, directed by Basu Chatterjee and adapted from the American film 12 Angry Men, follows twelve jurors sequestered to decide the fate of a young man from a poor neighborhood accused of killing his father, a crime that would bring capital punishment if he is found guilty. When one juror alone resists the group's rush to a quick guilty verdict, the others grow frustrated, and the film follows the ensuing debate as he questions the reliability of the evidence and eyewitness testimony, pushing his fellow jurors to reconsider their snap judgments.
