Set in Kashmir, this 2008 Hindi legal drama follows two army officers and best friends, one a reluctant, easygoing lawyer and the other a diligent one, who are assigned opposing sides in a court martial after a soldier kills a fellow officer during a counter-insurgency operation. As the defense lawyer investigates the case with a local journalist pursuing the story, he begins questioning whether the situation is as straightforward as it first appears. The film is adapted from a Hindi stage play and draws inspiration from an American courtroom drama.
