Set in Delhi from the 1920s onward, this drama follows two closely bonded families—one Muslim, one Hindu—during the years surrounding India's independence movement. When an unmarried Muslim woman secretly gives birth, her son is raised by her Hindu neighbors as their own, only for the boy to grow up embracing anti-Muslim extremism, straining the ties between the two families. The story uses this personal conflict to explore religious intolerance and the trauma of Partition-era India.
