This 1975 Hindi drama follows a small-time criminal who, fearing another gangster's revenge, swaps his newborn son with the baby of a respected stage performer, hoping to spare his own child from a life of crime. Years later he discovers that fate has reversed his plan, with the swapped boys growing up in ways opposite to what he intended, leading to conflict between the two families as the truth of their upbringing comes to light. The film features music by R.D. Burman with lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri, including a song reprised multiple times through the story.
