This 1993 Hindi romance, directed by K. Vishwanath and adapted from the Bengali hit Amar Sangee, follows Kashinath and his longtime companion Imli, whose expected marriage is complicated when the frail, affluent Anjali Chopra enters his world. Under Kashinath's attention Anjali grows more confident and falls for him, defying her father's wish that she marry Ajit, while Imli's hidden serious illness pushes Kashinath to seek funds to save her. The story centers on the tangled affections and sacrifices among these characters as their fates intertwine.
