After a police officer dies while foiling an attack on a minister, his son grows up training himself while looking after his grief-stricken, mentally unstable mother. As an adult, he rescues a young woman from an attempt on her life by a gangster's men, and the two fall in love despite her father's disapproval and secret dealings with the same criminal, who later frames the young man using a truck loaded with explosives. During this ordeal he stumbles onto information about another planned assassination, setting the stage for a final confrontation with the villains.
