Set in a quiet Palakkad village, this Malayalam drama follows a widowed clockmaker raising his young daughter while nursing a hesitant romance with a neighboring woman whose own daughter is being raised alone after her husband abandoned them. When a brutal crime against a local girl shakes the community, the protagonist's fears for his daughter's safety and his pursuit of justice pull him into events that upend his settled life, eventually landing him behind bars. The story, told partly through flashback, was Lohithadas's directorial debut and became a landmark of Malayalam cinema despite struggling commercially on release.
