This 1986 Kannada comedy follows Panduranga and Parvathi, two people from modest families who each have their own reasons for needing money, including Panduranga's wish to help his sisters and dodge an uncle intent on forcing a marriage on him. To enter a contest run by a company called Ananda Enterprises, the two agree to pretend to be a married couple, complicating their lives further when a lost infant becomes part of their ruse. Their charade is put to the test as contest judges and Parvathi's disapproving grandfather scrutinize them, leading to a series of comic misunderstandings.
