Rituparno Ghosh's 2000 Bengali drama centers on Banalata, a middle-aged widow-to-be who has led an isolated life ever since her fiancé died on the eve of their wedding. Her secluded routine is upended when she allows a film crew to shoot at her large family home, bringing her into contact with a glamorous actress and a charismatic married director toward whom she develops a quiet, hopeful attachment. As the production wraps and the visitors leave, she is left to confront her renewed sense of loneliness.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
