Bagh Bahadur

Bengali · 1989 · 98 min · drama

Directed by Buddhadeb Dasgupta — Archana · Pavan Malhotra · M. V. Vasudeva Rao

Set in rural Bengal, this drama follows Ghunuram, a folk performer who dresses as a tiger to perform traditional tiger dances at village fairs. As he travels between settlements to showcase his art, he finds that the villagers show little interest in his performance, instead drawn to a real leopard that has recently arrived in the region. The film uses this situation to explore how urban commercial culture is gradually displacing traditional rural customs and folk traditions.

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
