Set in 1970s southern India, this period drama follows a Dalit farmer family whose conflict with a wealthy upper-caste landlord over their land triggers a cycle of violence and tragedy. The film interweaves the family's present-day flight from authorities with flashbacks revealing the father's violent past as a moonshine brewer and his involvement in a land rights movement.
