This 2007 Malayalam drama follows Mukundan, a devoted communist activist nicknamed 'Cuba,' whose principled stance threatens the ambitions of a manipulative local politician, Karunan, prompting him to relocate for work in Dubai. There he witnesses the exploitation of migrant laborers by an associate of Karunan, and forms an unexpected bond with a Chinese woman whose presence stirs his ideological attachment to communism even as her own views diverge from his. Set against the backdrop of real tensions within Kerala's communist movement, the story follows Mukundan and his companions as they work to uncover the wrongdoing tied to both the politician and his business partner.
