Set among coastal Kerala's labor movement in the 1950s, this Malayalam drama follows Chellappan, a committed union organizer whose devotion to the workers' cause comes at the cost of his troubled home life, marked by jealousy and mistreatment of his wife. After losing his job and going into hiding under a false identity to escape police pursuit, he is forced to confront the consequences of his neglect when he discovers his family has moved on without him. The film, adapted from Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai's novel, was notable as the final screen appearance of actor Sathyan and the debut of Mammootty in a minor role.
