Anjaam

This 1994 Hindi thriller follows Shivani, a flight attendant who rejects the advances of a wealthy industrialist, Vijay, and instead marries a pilot. Years later Vijay reinserts himself into the couple's life under the guise of friendship, and his unrelenting fixation on Shivani spirals into violence and tragedy that upends her family and eventually lands her in prison. The story centers on the cruelty and danger she endures at the hands of an obsessive suitor, framed within a broader look at violence against women.
