This 1971 Hindi drama follows Ravi, a widowed father raising his daughter and living with his mother and younger brother, who develops feelings for Sheetal, a single mother who happens to teach his daughter at school. As the two grow closer, the story unfolds their separate pasts through flashbacks, including Sheetal's earlier tragic romance and Ravi's own family secrets, alongside a side story involving a mute worker's affection for a young woman. Misunderstandings, family judgments, and past secrets complicate the budding relationship between the two leads.
