Anantaram

Told entirely through the recollections of its withdrawn central character, Ajayan, this Malayalam drama follows a man taken in and raised by a physician after being abandoned as a child. His account moves between his guarded, solitary youth and an intense, secretive attachment to his foster brother's wife, then loops back to revisit earlier memories of family, household staff, childhood fears, and a separate romantic infatuation. Presented as a fragmented, first-person meditation rather than a straightforward chronology, the film traces the slow unraveling of its narrator's mind, leaving the reliability of his own story in question.
