Set against the backdrop of classical Indian dance traditions, this bilingual Telugu and Kannada film follows a man devoted to preserving the Kuchipudi dance form despite social resistance. When he discovers a young woman willing to learn this ancient art, he trains her as a dancer, but faces severe social ostracism for his efforts to pass on this cultural heritage during a time when women practitioners were stigmatized.
