This 1991 Telugu science-fiction film follows a professor's invention of a time machine, which ends up carrying a young boy, his friends, and a couple caught in a budding romance back to the 16th-century Vijayanagara Empire while they try to prove that a priceless diamond on display in a museum has been swapped for a fake by an art thief. In the past, the travelers interact with Emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya's court, including poets and dancers, as they search for answers about the gem's fate and a prophecy tied to its theft across centuries. The story, credited as India's first time-travel film, blends historical drama with futuristic elements inspired by H. G. Wells' The Time Machine.
