An Indian-American woman haunted by dreams of a past life connected to a Durga temple and a slain freedom fighter travels to India to make sense of them, defying her father's marriage demands. On the run from a relative in law enforcement sent to fetch her, she teams up with a small-time car thief, and together they get drawn into a dangerous investigation involving a crime lord's illegal weapons and a politician linked to her visions. The 2002 Hindi film marked the acting debuts of its two lead actors.
