Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai

This 1979 Tamil drama, directed by S. P. Muthuraman and starring Rajinikanth, follows Santhanam, the eldest son of a family left fatherless when he is just six years old. Forced to abandon his own prospects, he takes up work at a printing press and takes on various odd jobs to support his mother and raise his younger siblings, hoping they will one day enjoy the comfortable life their late father wanted for them. As the siblings grow into educated, settled adults, Santhanam continues to struggle financially, taking on debts for their sake while facing strained relationships, a difficult marriage, and mounting hardship of his own.
