Set in Bombay, this 1954 Hindi comedy-drama follows Kalu, a taxi driver who has recently arrived in the city and finds himself caught between two women who each hope to marry him. Focused on building his own fortune first, he keeps postponing any decision about settling down. Directed by Guru Dutt, the film is also known for its widely praised musical score by O.P. Nayyar.
