A Thursday follows Naina Jaiswal, a preschool teacher in Mumbai who suddenly takes sixteen young students hostage, sparking a high-stakes standoff with police. As negotiator Javed Khan and ACP Catherine Alvarez try to defuse the crisis, her escalating demands - including a large ransom and a face-to-face meeting with the Prime Minister - reveal that her actions are tied to a traumatic incident from her own past involving the two officers. The film builds tension around this hostage negotiation while gradually exposing the personal history driving Naina's extreme actions.
