A young heir falls for a singer while vacationing in Srinagar, but his mother disapproves of the match due to the woman's poverty. Their plans for a secret wedding are derailed by a car accident that leaves him comatose and her badly injured, after which his mother deceives them both about what really happened. Following reconstructive surgery that changes her appearance entirely, the singer builds a new identity under a different name, while unresolved feelings and buried secrets slowly resurface between the two.
