Set in and around Mumbai's red-light district, this 1995 Hindi action drama follows two boys raised under very different circumstances—one adopted by a policeman, the other raised by a sex worker—who grow up as close friends despite taking opposite paths in life. While one pursues higher education and falls in love with a wealthy man's daughter, the other turns to gambling and grows disillusioned with a corrupt world around him. Their bond is tested when a local crime lord who preys on vulnerable women in the area brings violence into their lives.
