Veera Kannadiga is a 2004 Kannada masala film about Munna, a young man raised in a Bangalore slum, who discovers from a man named Vishwa that his father Shankar was a laborer killed in Mumbai by a gangster called Bade Mia after a bitter rivalry between them. Learning the truth of his parents' deaths, Munna sets out to confront Bade Mia and dismantle his criminal network. The film was directed by Meher Ramesh from a story by Puri Jagannadh, who made a parallel Telugu version, and starred Puneeth Rajkumar and Anita Hassanandani.
