Veedu

Set in Madras, this Tamil drama follows Sudha, a young unmarried woman who takes on the responsibility of building a home for her family after they are forced to vacate their rented apartment. With support from her fiancé Gopi, her grandfather, and various colleagues and workers, she navigates loans, bribery, contractors, and financial setbacks to see the construction through. The film, directed by Balu Mahendra, explores the everyday struggles of a middle-class family striving to secure a place of their own.
