In Gwalior, an impoverished retired teacher named Shambhu and his wife Manju struggle under the weight of a loan taken to fund their son's education abroad, a son who now refuses to help them from America. When the menacing loan shark behind that debt, who is protected by a corrupt police officer, turns his attention toward one of Shambhu's young students, Shambhu is driven to a desperate act of violence that sets off a tangled investigation involving a scheming politician and a phone full of incriminating evidence.
