This Malayalam political drama follows Balachandran Adiga, a young man from a once-prestigious but now struggling Brahmin family, who shoulders responsibility for his father and sisters. To secure a government job and rescue his family from financial ruin, he abandons his engagement to marry into a wealthier household, setting off a chain of personal losses and moral compromises as he navigates a corruption-ridden bureaucracy and rises within its ranks. The story, loosely adapted from a Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai novel, traces his shifting values as ambition and family loyalty pull him in different directions.
