Twin brothers with opposite circumstances—one deaf and mute but successful, the other ordinary—become rivals when the younger marries a woman the elder becomes dangerously obsessed with. As the elder brother employs increasingly destructive and harmful methods to separate the couple and win the woman for himself, tensions escalate toward a tragic confrontation.
