A newlywed couple from Cherthala, living away from home because their families disapprove of their inter-caste marriage, become entangled with local police after the wife's gold wedding chain is snatched by a stranger on a bus and swallowed before he can be caught. As officers try to build a case despite the thief's lack of identification and the missing evidence, the investigation turns into a tense, often absurd standoff between the accused, the couple, and the local police station. The film follows how this small theft escalates into a drawn-out test of truth, procedure, and moral compromise for everyone involved.
