This 1986 Malayalam drama, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Mohanlal, centers on Vinod, a young man committed to a psychiatric facility in Ooty after the traumatic death of his girlfriend leaves him mentally unstable. Under the harsh oversight of the institution's director, he begins to find support and healing through two other figures connected to the hospital, and a romantic bond starts to form along the way. Loosely inspired by One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, the film explores themes of institutional cruelty and personal recovery.
