Thalaimagan follows Dheeran, a bold newspaper reporter working under a principled editor at a truth-driven news organization, who is not afraid to take direct action when writing alone fails to get results. His investigations put him on a collision course with a corrupt minister and a dishonest police officer, especially after he campaigns against a foreign company's water bottling plant that threatens local villagers. The film traces how his exposure of this nexus of political and criminal corruption leads to escalating conflict and a climactic confrontation.
