Set in Bombay, this 1988 Hindi drama follows Mahesh, a young man haunted by his parents' murder during a bank robbery, who reinvents himself as Munna after a violent act of self-defense lands him in prison. His life becomes entangled with Mohini, a young woman forced to dance for money by her troubled father to pay off a debt to a feared gangster, and the two fall in love despite the criminal forces surrounding them. As Munna navigates a fragile truce with the police and threats from a vengeful crime boss, he must decide how far he'll go to protect Mohini and reclaim a normal life.
