Spirit follows Raghunandan, a former banker turned journalist and TV host who is admired publicly for his intellect but privately struggles with alcoholism, which has already cost him his marriage. Despite maintaining cordial ties with his ex-wife and her new husband, who care for his deaf-mute son, his drinking increasingly disrupts his career and personal relationships. An encounter with a plumber whose own severe alcoholism reflects an even darker version of his condition prompts Raghunandan to reconsider his own path.
